In addition to the above information, two recommendations are required. At least one of these recommendations must be from one of your high school instructors.

The Guidance Department at Sacred Heart High School is able to automatically forward copies of the recommendations from faculty and staff and academic transcripts used for your college applications directly to The Thomas and Elsie Deeley Foundation. For this reason, when you submit an application and receive an email confirming receipt of your application, a copy of this email is also sent to the Sacred Heart Guidance Department. When they receive this confirming email, they automatically forward copies of your recommendations and transcripts directly to the Deeley Foundation via electronic means.

If you wish to submit recommendations from other sources, please forward them to either the email or postal address above.

We strongly recommend that all students complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) forms and the CSS (College Scholarship Service) Profile forms. Completion of these forms is required for those wishing to be considered for the Fairfield University, Quinnipiac University and/or the University of Bridgeport FULL TUITION awards and also for the scholarship to Boston College. Every student applying to any of these four schools should seriously consider filing these forms to become eligible for these scholarships that are worth in excess of $180,000 over four years.

Please note that not every school uses both forms and applicants should check the specific requirements for the colleges/universities they are interested in.

Our agreements with Fairfield University, Quinnipiac University, the University of Bridgeport, Southern Connecticut State University, Central Connecticut State University, and Boston College may require an exchange of admission and financial need information between them and The Thomas and Elsie Deeley Foundation. Consequently, we require the permission of any student applying to these schools to allow the schools to provide this information to The Thomas and Elsie Deeley Foundation. When submitting this application, you are agreeing to provide this permission as follows:

"I am granting permission for Fairfield University, Quinnipiac University, the University of Bridgeport, Southern Connecticut State University, Central Connecticut State University, and/or Boston College to share the decision results of my admission application and, if admitted, the components of my financial aid award granted by the university or college with The Thomas and Elsie Deeley Foundation. I acknowledge that this information will be shared with the Foundation for the sole purpose of consideration of scholarship funding by The Thomas and Elsie Deeley Foundation."

I hereby certify that the information in this application is true and correct. I understand that if any of the above information is found to be incorrect, it may be grounds for eliminating me from consideration for the scholarship. I further stipulate that, to the best of my knowledge, neither my parents nor I are related to or conduct business with either The Thomas and Elsie Deeley Foundation or members of the Thomas and Elsie Deeley family.

I have read the statements on this website describing the scholarship and agree with the rules and regulations for the administration of the scholarship.

I understand and agree that, if I am awarded the scholarship, I must continue to meet the financial need requirements, remain a full-time student (a minimum of 12 credit hours each semester) and maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 2.5 (2.8 G.P.A. for the FULL TUITION scholarships at Fairfield University, Quinnipiac University, and the University of Bridgeport and the scholarship with Boston College) to remain eligible for the scholarship.

To verify my G.P.A., I agree to submit my college grades to The Thomas and Elsie Deeley Foundation at the end of every semester and recognize that a failure to do so may result in my Deeley Foundation scholarship being terminated.

To demonstrate my financial need, I agree to provide a copy of my FAFSA awards and identify any other merit scholarships or financial aid I receive to The Thomas and Elsie Deeley Foundation for each academic year and understand that a failure to provide this information may result in my Deeley Foundation scholarship being terminated.

By clicking on this box, I am agreeing to these terms and conditions.
